Action 3.1 of COSELMAR

The doctoral students Axel Creach and Elie Chevillot carried out field surveys on the building frame of the communes affected by the storm Xynthia.

This long and meticulous work allowed Axel to develop an index VIE (Vulnérabilité Intrinsèque Extrême) which takes into consideration a series of parameters (water depth, protection against flooding, architectural types of houses, proximity to refuge zone...)

This index helped to establish vulnerability maps:
